Official Rules 

“Voices of the City 30 Free Rides Project” 

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF WINNING.

Promotion Description 

The Voices of the City 30 Rides Project is intended to promote inclusiveness in the Chicago area through multimedia audio/visual art that focuses on diverse backgrounds. The sweepstakes officially begins on August 12, 2019 12:00 AM Central Time and ends on February 1, 2020 at 12:00 AM Central Time. Voices of the City is currently the sole sponsor for this offer. Participants can email VoicesOfTheCityProject@gmail.com if they have any questions. One winner per month for five months (a winner will be selected on the 30th of each month starting on September 30 2019, and ending on January 30, 2020). One winner per household for the duration of the project.  

Eligibility 

Voices of the City 30 Rides Project is open only to those who sign up at the online page (https://www.voicesofthecity.net/votc) and who are 18 as of the date of entry. Minors can enter to win, but written parental approval is required to accept the prize if they are a selected winner. There is no limitation on nationality, and participants need not be from Illinois, but s/he must follow the instructions, including providing their email, and favorite place to visit in the Chicagoland area. Void where prohibited by law. Employees of Voices of the City, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate in the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project. The Voices of the City 30 Rides Project is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

Description of the Prize 

The selected winners receive 30 free rides through a Ventra card that has been pre-filled. Total cash value of the prize is $65.00. No cash or other prize substitution is permitted except at Voices of the City’s discretion. The prize is non-transferable. Any and all prize related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by winners is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Voices of the City to use winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Selected winners will be notified through the provided email address and asked to provide a mailing address, and pre-filled Ventra cards will be mailed or delivered to the provided mailing address. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by Voices of the City. 

How to Enter 

After watching the Voices of the City video in full, participants must enter by using the online entry form provided at https://www.voicesofthecity.net/votc. The entry must fulfill all Voices of the City 30 Rides Project requirements, listing the participant’s email and favorite location in the Chicagoland area, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are not complete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Voices of the City. You may enter only once and you must fill in the information requested. You may not enter more times than indicated by using multiple email addresses, identities or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Voices of the City. Entries will be accepted starting on August 15, 2019 at 12:00AM CDT and ending on January 30, 2020 at 11:59PM CT. Participants can enter directly online at VoicesOfTheCity.net/VOTC or by scanning the QR code available on promotional materials. Participants cannot enter with a bot or with a service that automatically enters participants.  By participating, you agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these rules, and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein. In addition, you agree to accept the decisions of Voices of the City, as final and binding as it relates to the content. The Voices of the City 30 Rides Project is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. 

Winner Selection 

A random selection is made to determine the winner, specifically: each entry is assigned a number; one member of the Voices of the City Project selects a number and another member matches the corresponding number to select the winner. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. A minimum of 100 entries is required for aVoices of the City 30 Rides Project winner to be selected.

Winner Notification 

Winners will be contacted by the email that they entered. If they do not respond within a period of one week (7 days) to claim the prize, it goes on to another random selection. Voices of the City has up to one month (30 days) after the random winner accepts to supply the prize (pre-filled Ventra card). The Ventra card is mailed or delivered to the address provided in response to the winner notification email. In the case of delivery, there is an agreed-upon location where the winner can come pick it up and sign for it, or it could be delivered in person. If a Ventra card is mailed, it is delivered by signature only. Voices of the City shall have no liability for a winner's failure to receive notices due to winners' spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for winners' provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 7 days from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and releases as required, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

The receipt by winner of the prize offered in Voices of the City 30 Rides Project is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal and state laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER (AT VOICES OF THE CITY'S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER'S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE VOICES OF THE CITY 30 RIDES PROJECT AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

Privacy 

Voices of the City will not share emails with companies or individuals; however, we may send you occasional updates on the project and winners, and you are free to be taken off the email list after entering. By entering this content you understand that Voices of the City, anyone acting on behalf of Voices of the City, or its respective licensees, successors and assigns will have the right, where permitted by law, without any further notice, review or consent to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter in perpetuity and throughout the World, your entry, including, without limitation, the entry favorite place and winner's name, image or statements about the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project, and biographical information about places visited that pertain to the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project as news, publicity or information and for trade, advertising, public relations and promotional purposes without any further compensation. Vocies of the City reserves the right to provide a list of winners on the Voices of the City website (voicesofthecity.net). 

Limitation of Liability 

Voices of the City is not liable for any accidents, lost cards, or unselected winners if the project does not go as planned and ends before Feb. 1, 2020. By entering you agree to release and hold harmless Voices of the City and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from (i) such entrant's participation in the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof, (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any computer, cable, network, hardware or software; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions or telephone or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries.

 Terms

Voices of the City reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the project. In such case, Voices of the City may select the recipients from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Voices of the City. Voices of the City reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project, or website or violates these Terms & Conditions.

Voices of the City has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project, to void votes for any reason, including, but not limited to; multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by official rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering.

Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Voices of the City reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

By entering the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project you agree to receive email newsletters periodically from Voices of the City. You can opt-out of receiving this communication at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the newsletter.

Disputes

The VOICES OF THE CITY 30 RIDES PROJECT IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE USA AND ILLINOIS, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this project, participant agrees that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Voices of the City 30 Rides Project, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Illinois/Cook County having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will participant(s) be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys' fees, other than participant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased
